A monthly archive of material for journaling
Hello! May 2026 felt like a month of chaos and upheaval, but sometimes I need a little shake-up to push forward. And we’re rounding out the month nicely with a second full moon, also known as a Blue Moon.
Moon cycles make for a fabulous rhythm to pair with journaling. New Moons are for setting intentions and acknowledging what you’d like to call in. Full Moons are for gratitude and releasing what no longer serves you.
I have a guided journal called Moonlight Gratitude, which guides you through prompts for each month of the year. For May, a couple of the themes are “accepting change” and “dealing with uncertainty.” Kind of a perfect fit for the current moment, right?
Below I’ve compiled a little shelf of recent delights for you to pull from if you need a hit of inspiration. Hope you like <3

Looking
This month I visited the Marciano Foundation to check out Magdalena Suarez Frimkess: Ninety-six and Pissed and Bruce Conner / Recording Angel.

Reading
Printed Matter!!! Print media appears to be alive and well after attending the 2026 LA Art Book Fair earlier in May. I lovingly collected a mean pile of paper ephemera, bought a shirt that says “I suffer from P.M.S. (putting up with men’s shit), and felt a renewed sense of hope for contemporary artists and indie publishers.
Watching
Tonight I’m going to watch a film called Parthanope, if only to pretend I’m on summer vacation for the evening. Tomorrow is June, after all. Have you seen it? No spoilers!

Writing
Lean into the Blue Moon energy, a Full Moon in Sagittarius! Light a candle or spritz your space with something refreshing. Open a window. Write about what you’re ready to let go. Could be a personal habit, physical object, relationship, dynamic, thought pattern, etc. Name something that’s no longer serving you, and set the intention to release it now.
Upcoming
My sister and I will be peddling our wares at ALTA Art Fair. She’ll have a couple original paintings for sale, some beautiful prints, and info about pet portrait commissions. I’ll have a few cyanotype prints, color film photography, postcards, and one weird little sticker for sale. If you’re in the area, please stop by! We’ll be in the indoor section, booths 7 & 8 by the stage.
