Welcome to the cute little newsletter for Secret Librairie.

I’ve always been an obsessive journal keeper, but does that count as real writing? Many would say no. Spoiler alert—I say it does!

Through maintaining a journal practice, I’ve figured out how to live my dream life. Writing in a private notebook has brought me closer to myself. Thanks to this self-discovery, I’ve become better equipped to show up for myself, my community, and my dreams in impactful ways.

Within the pages of my diary, I realized I wanted to sell everything I owned and move to France. I became an aupair, went to grad school to study fashion, moved to Paris, and fell in love.

Watch out now—journaling is no joke. If you pick it up, you just might find yourself pursuing your dreams. Journaling helped me quit my office job this past summer and pursue full-time freelance literary marketing.

About Secret Librairie

We have two main content pillars—journaling and indie literary marketing. They mesh together more than you’d think!

Do you need to be an author to enjoy our journaling content? No!

Do you need to be a journal keeper to benefit from our marketing tips and resources? Hell nah.

My goal with Secret Librairie is to:

  1. Expand ideas around journaling, explore historical instances of journaling, and encourage this solo sport with a sense of community.

  2. Offer more robust access to marketing resources for writers, especially for authors self-publishing or working with small independent presses.

The Newsletter

This Substack is a newsletter counterpart to the blog Secret Librairie. My goal is to provide weekly posts chock full of inspiring and insightful resources.

This newsletter remains a reflection of myself:

  • Always evolving

  • Obsessed with journaling and personal growth

  • In favor of showing up imperfectly rather than not showing up at all

  • Seeking a community of like-minded weirdos who maybe kinda might have some unfulfilled dreams

Do you ONLY care about journaling?
